Senior Estimator - Commercial Fit Out

The business has been established for 10+ years and the tenders you will be working on are high end Fit Out projects including Commercial offices, Education projects, Medical Centres, Retail/Hospitality, and Local Government works. Typically the tenders you will be working on are are $200k-$5m, fast-track Fit Out projects. The business have a very strong pipeline of work for 2023/2024, and you will have a Junior Estimator and Bid Writer on your team to work collaboratively together on the tenders.

You will be based in their open-plan office close to Central Station full time (5 days a week), however part of your role can include going out to site to meet prospective clients. Responsibilities:

As the Lead Estimator based in the Head Office, your job will be working closely with Director and Construction Manager to establish good working relationships with existing clients and put forward the most competitive tenders. As they are a small company and they have less overheads, this enables you to put forward competitive prices, and you will have autonomy and freedom to make recommendations as you see fit. It's an exciting opportunity for an Estimator to take the next step in their career and lead the Estimating team. They are looking for someone with previous experience in the construction/Fit Out market that is willing to be adaptable.

• Work on the preparation of Tenders, and assist the team in building new client relationships and winning more work with their Business Development Manager
• Manage Tender Proposal documentation and drawings
• Reading plans & drawings
• Measurements & Bills of Quantities
• Preparing take offs
• RFI's
• Tender submissions
• Presenting the most competitive tenders to secure projects that their competitors are disappointed to not to win.

• Minimum 5+ years experience as an Estimator/Senior Estimator (commercial not residential)
• A good understanding of the Tender and Estimation process, with the ability to learn quickly and be adaptable to clients requirements
• Understanding of RFI's and ability to read drawings & measurements
• Extremely high attention to detail and quality of works
• Fluent in English and have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The business have confirmed that they will consider someone that needs sponsorship, if you have a Quantity Surveying degree and have worked for a head contractor on refurbishment projects in the commercial sector before
• Unfortunately if you have only worked for a subcontractor or residential builder, you will not be the right fit for this role.
