The Role: The Commercial Financial Manager will play a critical role in overseeing financial operations and strategy within our Civil Construction division. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial planning, analysis, and reporting for construction projects. They will work closely with project teams to ensure the financial health and profitability of each project while identifying opportunities for cost optimisation and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies and processed to support the achievement of project objectives and overall business goals.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial models, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project timelines and deliverables.
- Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments to identify areas of improvement and opportunities for cost savings.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to monitor project performance and address financial and commercial issues or concerns.
- Prepare and present financial reports, including variance analysis and recommendations for corrective actions, to senior management and project teams
- Oversee commercial management , ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Provide leadership and guidance to finance teams and project staff, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, civil engineering or related field desirable
- Experience in Financial/Commercial management with a focus on Civil Construction projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing financial operations and budgets for construction projects
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data and trends
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of commercial and financial standards related to Civil Construction
