Commercial Manager

This highly successful and rapidly growing construction support business has a national footprint across 4 states, and has an array of National contracts, which has added to their continued success and expansion.  With the demand for their services increasing, they are well positioned to capitalise on their hard-earned reputation and as such are looking for an experienced professional to add sophistication and depth to the commercial aspect of finance.
  
The Role
With a direct reporting line to the GM Operations, you will be part of the big picture, able to influence and build the longer-range planning for this successful business.  With an enviable pipeline of work within a growing sector we are now looking for someone to implement more sophistication and rigor around all commercial processes including the pricing/ tendering framework.

• Participation in the tendering process including pricing preparation, contract reviews and customer engagement.
• Conduct comprehensive commercial analysis and provide decision-making support for Centurion's diverse business units.
• Proactively drive initiatives to reduce operational costs by identifying opportunities, executing strategies, providing support, and reporting on results.
• Evaluate new business initiatives to support and enhance overall business performance.
• Perform Post Implementation Reviews to compare actual performance with expected performance, providing feedback and recommendations to the business.
• Develop and prepare justifications for capital investments and business cases.
• Management and oversight of rates including annual reviews and fuel levies.
• Collaborate closely with the finance team to improve the accuracy of weekly and monthly P&L reports, and provide operational and commercial commentary to support trend analysis.
• Develop and prepare annual budgets and forecasts.

Success in this role will be future proofing the commercial finance function for growth and adapting to market conditions. The first 12 months will involve building both immediate functions such as robust budgeting as well as longer range planning including enhancing the Power BI function of the team.
  
About You
As an experienced Commercial Manager you will understand the importance of best practices, and be prepared to review, overhaul and implement numerous improvements to harness the existing ERP and BI tools. You will have a natural affinity with Excel and genuinely enjoy adding value. You will be CA/ CPA, ideally with a background within a multi-disciplined operational environment to understand the drivers and nuances of contract management.
