The industry stands at the cusp of what is perhaps the greatest potential change in the landscape in over 150 years, and we have set ourselves a bold vision enabling a flourishing Queensland sugarcane industry.
Due to an internal promotion we seek an experienced Executive General Manager Commercial to join the Executive Leadership Team of QSL. This role plays a significant part in achieving QSL’s strategic objectives by assuming overall responsibility for developing, directing and managing the company's physical marketing and trading activities along with the associated chartering, logistics and supply chain management and overall responsibility for developing and directing QSL’s Grower and Miller Services strategy and engagement.
The primary objective of the role is maximising value for our members, bringing life to our ‘trusted partner’ brand strategy in the process.
The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer, leading a broad range of front-office commercial functions. With an innate commitment to leading the QSL values and strategic purpose, key expectations would include:
- building trusted and valued Grower and Miller relationship strategies and growth partnerships
- inspiring the development and execution of corporate strategy and working collaboratively with the ELT in the achievement of high-performance
- leading financial risk management strategies, including overseeing NY11/16 pricing product and strategy development
- overseeing the management of foreign exchange risk
- overseeing the development and implementation of short and long-term physical sales and marketing strategies
- overseeing and undertaking commercial negotiations for the sale and supply of raw sugar in both export and domestic markets
- driving continual improvement strategies and looking for innovations in both products, systems and delivery, always respecting QSL’s risk appetite statement
- leading, inspiring and nurturing the performance and capability of your team, in line with QSL cultural aspirations, ensuring growth, succession and talent management are priorities.
