Due to continued expansion and growth a newly created opportunity exists for an experienced Commercial Manager in our Pacific Energy Connected (PEC) division. In addition to expanding the existing remote and renewable power solutions, PEC is one of Australia’s leading turnkey delivery partners for green hydrogen production and refueling facilities, with unmatched experience delivering end-to-end hydrogen ecosystems and specialised equipment and is on a rapid growth trajectory.
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for leadership and support for technical innovation, tender submissions, and contract commercial negotiations. This role would be ideal for someone with strong commercial or business law experience alongside an understanding of energy policy, regulation market trends, pricing dynamics and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proposal preparation, risk profiling incorporating hydrogen, traditional and renewable energy components.
- Continuous development of a working understanding of available and emerging technologies and their economics.
- Support the Legal and Contracts Manager with contract review, especially pertaining to commercial information and data.
- Engage with internal stakeholders, group subsidiaries and suppliers for pricing and technical support for proposals.
- Actively seek new business opportunities in line with the group strategy.
- Ensure our ESG objectives are considered and accounted for in all commercial proposals.
- Develop business cases for internal approval processes in line with Pacific Energy’s policies.
- Collaborate, contribute, and ensure risk profile aligns with company expectations in relation to contracted party suitability, new business modelling and proposal drafting.
- Tertiary qualification with substantial experience in a similar role.
- Solid technical and energy industry experience with an understanding of operations, costs, P&L, and technical drivers critical to business outcomes.
- Experience in being accountable for opening new markets, energy infrastructure discounted cash flow models, renewable gases, or National Electricity Market (NEM) regulation would be highly regarded.
- Proven excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Problem solving mindset, fairness, objectivity, self-initiating and deadline driven.
- Exceptional attention to detail, commitment to delivery, flexibility, and strong communication skills.
