The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Commercial Manager - Bundled Energy to join our Energy Solutions team in our Perth or Brisbane office on a Permanent Full Time basis.
Reporting to the General Manager Commercial Power, you will play a key role in creating value for APA and its customers by designing our approach to Bundled Energy solutions. We want to meet the expectations of our customers by bundling power generation, gas supply and green products in a seamless customer focused solution. You will lead the development of new products, develop excellent relationships with key suppliers and negotiate gas supply contracts and customer offtake agreements.
This exciting new role offers the unique chance to pioneer APA's product offerings, crafting and establishing key systems, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks. You'll be at the forefront of driving origination efforts, shaping the future of our offerings from the ground up. Key Responsibilities
- Define APA's bundled gas and power generation offerings, securing internal approval for risk tolerance and providing senior management with commercial insights for decision-making
- Establish comprehensive systems, policies, and procedures to integrate bundled offerings in APA, ensuring effective monitoring, management, and reporting of gas commodity risks, including 24/7 oversight
- Collaborate with stakeholders to curate product offerings aligning with APA's portfolio, leveraging Business Development (BD) managers to market bundled solutions (e.g., gas supply, transport, processing, power generation, renewables) to customers
- Build and maintain robust relationships with customers and market players to successfully develop, deliver, and manage bundled offerings, leading negotiations for gas sale/purchase and transportation agreements, securing all required approvals, and facilitating a smooth transition to operations
- Drive commercial strategies to maximise the value of bundled offerings for both APA and its clients, staying informed of and responding to regulatory changes in favour of APA's interests
- Proactively engage in the origination, negotiation, and execution of new master gas sale agreements, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements and seamless operational handover
Your background
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. business, commerce, law)
- Extensive work experience in wholesale gas (e.g. trading, risk management, origination, compliance)
- Exposure to east and west coast gas markets (preferred) and experience with establishing systems and process to manage a commodity portfolio
