Role Highlights: This Australian-owned Underwriting Agency has built a national business with underwriting operations in each state. An opportunity has now arisen for a Commercial Underwriter to step into the New South Wales state-based team to write Property and Strata business.
Role Overview
Reporting to the state leadership team, this underwriting role will take ownership of commercial broker relationships, writing both new and renewal business across the state.
You will be an instrumental pillar of the team's success, helping to mentor and guide more junior staff members while becoming an important referral point for Commercial risks in the team.
Responsibilities
- Writing new and renewal business across New South Wales.
- Building and maintaining relationships with Brokers to ensure excellent service standards are maintained.
- Managing risk selection to ensure risks are within the organisation's insurance parameters and appetite.
- Mentoring and guiding junior underwriters as a senior member of the team, providing support when necessary.
- Being the face of the business at both regional and national events.
Candidate Profile
You will be a proven Commercial Underwriter with a track record of writing Strata or Property insurance risks either standalone or as part of a portfolio.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience underwriting Commercial Property or Strata business.
- Demonstrated track record of building relationships with a diverse set of brokers.
- The ability to influence and negotiate effectively in commercial scenarios.
- A strong communication style with the ability to write and present effectively.
- Good attention to detail with the ability to identify trends or anomalies.
