The role
We are seeking a Communication and Events Coordinator who will be responsible for assisting the Head of Strategic Partnerships in planning, developing, and implementing effective communication strategies on a 12 month maternity leave contract. Additionally, the role also involves the conceptualisation, planning and organisation of events, ensuring that the essence of the Spell brand is captured on each occasion.
This role will require regular collaboration with various departments within the company, as well as with external event contractors, sponsors, content creators and media representatives. The role also assists with internal and external communications, and various administrative duties as required by the Head of Strategic Partnerships.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with media representatives and stakeholders
- Coordinate the preparation and distribution of press releases and media kits
- Assist with communications for external brand relationships including celebrities, influencers, industry peers and media representatives
- Communicate regularly with external PR agencies
- Recognise and develop relevant pitches for positive media opportunities
- Manage collection samples and process all PR orders
- Assist with the coordination of media coverage for events
- Draft press releases and brand-related copy
- Oversee all planning, operations and logistics for assigned events, ensuring consistencies in the brand experience
- Stakeholder management
- Research, plan and negotiate appropriate event spaces
- Effectively communicate scheduling with all parties for pre and post event delivery
- Coordinate venue management and equipment hire
- Liaise with venue designers, caterers and contractors
- Organise event resourcing
- Track and analyse the effectiveness of communication campaigns and events
- Collate data-driven recommendations for future improvement
- Effective budget management and tracking
About you
We are looking for someone who has a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field, with 2-3 years experience in communication, event planning, or a similar role, preferably within the fashion industry. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organisational and project management skills. You will be proficient in using digital communication tools and social media platforms.
You will enjoy working as part of a team, but you're able to work independently at times and prioritise your own workload, as well as having the ability to be self-motivated and focused on the job at hand. Ideally, you will have a drivers licence and a car.
