Why Your Role Matters:
The Events & Communications Coordinator plays an integral role in delivering events and communications for the UNSW Business School. You'll be joining a team that is responsible for the school's external-facing engagement and reputation: developing key stakeholder relationships, writing, editing and publishing content on the Business School website, creating scalable content that engages and informs and producing unique events and programs that reinforce the UNSW Business School 2030 strategy to improve lives globally through transformative education, innovative research, and commitment to a just society.
You'll be working in a generalist role alongside the faculty and central teams to manage the website, coordinate flag-ship events such as their 'Meet the CEO' series, the AGSM Professional Forum, and the Business School podcast. This is a dynamic role offering the opportunity to directly impact and further build the school's reputation within the industry and the public
Responsibilities:
  • Participate fully within the External Engagement Team and wider Division of Equity, Engagement and Societal Impact.
  • Deliver a customer-focused service and demonstrate commitment to excellence and improvement.
  • Implement the events plan and coordinate and deliver all aspects of the event management lifecycle.
  • Implement an integrated communications plan that ensures clear consistent messaging across all platforms and channels.
  • Working with the central Web team, coordinate and update content on the Business School's website homepages and coordinate a team of BUS website editors.
  • Provide advice to stakeholders on communications, including most appropriate channels to deliver effective and targeted messages to relevant audiences.
  • Ensure consistent, timely and seamless messaging reaches relevant stakeholders within UNSW.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and clients across UNSW to identify emerging issues and initiatives.
Who You Are:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent level of knowledge coupled demonstrated experience in delivering live and digital events and internal communications program.
  • A confident verbal and written communicator with excellent presentation skills and the ability to translate complex information for a variety of audiences.
  • Previous experience in delivering a range of events and sound understanding of the steps involved in working with event owners, presenters, stakeholders and audiences
  • Manage projects and develop, plan and implement successful communication and event plans.
  • Ability to understand and address a range of target audiences, with a highly effective writing style in high-impact messaging to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to navigate through competing deadlines.
Desirable skills:
  • Familiarity with the Adobe stack.
  • Project management skills including workplan design, budget allocation
  • Experience in liaising with creative media agencies.
