About the role:
We are on the hunt for a part-time Communications and Engagement Coordinator to review and assess the effectiveness of disaster management processes and response. You will be a cornerstone in the delivery of promotional activities and communications in the Disaster Management Sector.
Duties:
Under guidance and supervision of the leadership team:
- Plan and participate in the delivery of Communications and promotion of core business activities to a range of stakeholders and community
- Provide expert engagement and communications support to the departments monitoring, evaluation and reporting functions
- Coordinate and engage staff/volunteers to clearly deliver information to stakeholders and communities in time sensitive situations
- Publish high quality communication products ie. Media releases, reports, social media content and newsletters
- Build and maintain relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders within the disaster management sector, agencies and impacted communities
- Monitor and evaluate Communications and Engagement approaches and identify and deliver on any opportunities to build on the departments capabilities
Skills and experience:
- Relevant tertiary education in communications or experience in a similar role
- Ability to develop and mobilise talent and stimulate innovation
- Confident with the ability to effectively communicate your ideas
- Ability to build and maintain working relationships with key stakeholders
- Demonstrate sound governance
- Current police clearance or the ability to obtain

- 20-25hrs per week however Mondays are essential
