Communications & Engagement Officer

Location | Flexible – Armidale, Erina, Newcastle, or Tamworth 
Hours | Full-time (1.0FTE, 38 hours/week) until 4 July 2025*

Annual full-time equivalent salary | $80,765- $88,924 + 11.5% super + salary packaging 

Join our Marketing, Engagement and Communications (MEC) team to deliver on our purpose to increase equity of access to primary care services. As a dynamic marketing, Communications and Engagement specialist this is your opportunity to work in a proactive capacity in a fast-paced team to communicate the strategic vision, initiatives and work of the PHN within our communities. This role will enable you to use your collaboration and communication skills to foster meaningful connections and Engagement.

About the role

The Communications and Engagement Officer works within the MEC team to develop and facilitate marketing and communications materials that inform and enhance engagement of and with primary healthcare professionals and communities throughout the Hunter New England and Central Coast regions. The Communications and Engagement Officer works to support the effective and timely delivery of innovative and inclusive marketing, Communications and Engagement activities, initiatives and campaigns to the PHN stakeholder groups: focusing primary healthcare professionals, providers and the community. 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, media, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in marketing, communications, or engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research and translate it into practical materials and effective resources displaying proficiency in producing print, electronic, and online resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong stakeholder relationships remotely and face to face and establish objectives to meet deadlines; adaptable to changing environments and priorities. 
  • A keen eye for detail and proven proof-reading skills.

Additional Information

*PHN's have been funded by the Department of Health and Aged Care since 2015. This is a maximum term contract until 4 July 2025 and any contract extensions are dependent on ongoing funding. 

**Salary: This role is classified as F – J  within our Enterprise Agreement and the rate will be dependent on skills and experience/qualifications. New appointments are generally offered between grade F - H.

The current PHN policy requires employees to have received 3 Primary doses of an approved COVID-19 Vaccination.
