AddressShepparton Retirement Villages (SRV) is a not-for-profit community-based organisation that was founded by the Rotary Club of Shepparton in 1968. Since that time SRV has become the largest provider of aged care services in the Shepparton region.
SRV is responsible for the delivery of care across 286 residential aged care beds, 272 independent living units and 50 aged care packages. Services are delivered across 3 campuses; however, our care packages are delivered across Shepparton and the region.
This is a dynamic and pivotal role that covers SRV’s Communications and Engagement functions including the provision of some secretariat and administrative support to the CEO.
The role is critical in ensuring a high degree of professional co-ordination and support to the CEO, executives and to designated committees. The Communications and Engagement Officer must be able to work under pressure at times, work out of hours at times, pivot, pre-empt, competently handle a wide variety of activities including
confidential matters with discretion.
The key roles and tasks are, but not limited to:
· Maintain the organisation’s website
· Review of brochures and publications
· Provide proofreading and editing support to the CEO and Executive Officer during periods of reporting and report writing
· In association with the Executive Officer & the CEO, organise and manage SRV’s events including the Annual General Meeting of Members, official openings, etc.
· Maintain the membership list of Shepparton Retirement Villages Inc.
· Provide a high level of administrative support to the CEO
· Cover the role of the Executive Officer from time to time. This may require some out of hours work.
· Always maintain a high level of confidentiality.
· Produce and circulate key organisational publications, including the monthly CEO Newsletter and Annual Report.
· Oversee, moderate, and maintain SRV’s online and social media presence.
· Draft internal and external Communications and ensure that all communications are consistent and uphold the reputation of the organisation.
· Develop effective networks to ensure that ‘good news’ stories are shared within the SRV community and the broader community.
· Act as the secretariat for the Consumer Advisory Body, Quality Care Advisory Body and Department Heads meetings including the coordination, preparation and distribution of agendas, papers and minutes for meetings.
· In the absence of the Executive Officer, supporting the emergency management team during crisis situations and ensuring all relevant supporting material is current and kept up to date.

Selection Criteria
· Tertiary qualification, eg Communications, Media and or Public Relations.
· Experience in marketing/communications including brand development.
· Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce a broad range of quality written material for a variety of audiences.
· Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail and an ability to work autonomously.
· Highly developed organisational skills, including the ability to set priorities and complete tasks to deadlines.
· Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Advanced PC and document control knowledge and experience.
· Demonstrated high level written, verbal and interpersonal communications
· Experience and knowledge of how to engage consumers and the community
· An understanding of how to align business and consumer and community expectations
· Experience in producing and managing websites, online content, e-marketing and social media
· Demonstrated capacity to meet timeframes and coordinate work output effectively within competing priorities
Desirable
· An understanding of the Aged Care or Health Industry.
