A.B. Paterson College is looking for an experienced, professional, dedicated and enthusiastic Communications Manager that will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of A.B. Paterson College’s internal and external communications, ensuring alignment with the College's brand and strategic priorities. Reporting directly to the Head of Community Engagement and Marketing and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication plans across various digital and traditional channels.
This is a permanent and full-time role starting in March 2024.

Your Responsibilities:
- Manage all internal and external communications, from conceptualisation to publication, ensuring consistency with the College's brand identity.
- Develop a deep understanding of the College's priorities and challenges, translating them into measurable communication outcomes and strategies.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Events Manager to deliver internal College publications, brochures, advertisements, electronic newsletters, yearbook, and other collateral materials.
- Review, update, and revise the College's Crisis Communication Plan to ensure preparedness for potential crises.
- Proactively manage media risks and opportunities, regularly placing the College in local media and coordinating responses to media inquiries.
- Provide strategic advice and practical support to the SLT and Principal on internal communication matters.
- Write informative and engaging speeches for the Chair of the Board and Principal as required.
- Enhance employee engagement by optimising internal communication channels and strategies.
- Monitor online and traditional media coverage, capturing relevant mentions and distributing reports to key stakeholders.
- Support the Human Resources department in uploading job descriptions to the College website.
- Develop and enforce the College's Style Guide to ensure consistency across all communications.
Our Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism or a related field.
- You must have at least 5 years’ experience.
- Up to date CPR and first aid training or willing to obtain.
- Current blue card for working with children.
