We are currently recruiting a Communications Manager to be part of our Content Communications team. In this key role, you’ll be driving our talent, publicity and communications storytelling efforts for the Foxtel Group and its brands (BINGE, Foxtel, Kayo Sports, Fox Sports) and providing great Australian talent a platform to tell new and different stories!
Reporting to the Director of Communications, this role is critical to building our brand into the next phase of its evolution and growing our success in a fast-changing, highly competitive local streaming landscape.
Our Communications Manager will have strong cross-functional interaction with Content and Programming teams, Partners, Talent and the wider Publicity and Communications teams. You’ll be a trusted and loyal advisor and a key creative contributor devising and delivering programs to strengthen our storytelling efforts across brand, product and content.
Our focus in publicity is driving innovative content-first, multi-channel storytelling that fuels the feeds of Australian entertainment enthusiasts.
Your responsibilities
- Talent Management – You build relationships fast and are used to working with high profile to emerging talent directly, via their agents, their publicists and their people knowing how to navigate to get the best outcome for the business. You are a trusted partner who keeps talent informed, well briefed and maximizes their use to promote our brand and our programming.
- Earned first storytelling – you push boundaries creatively and always thinks multi-channel. You know how to tell great stories and build buzz without always needing talent to do it.
- Publicity and relationship management - Media engagement remains a critical part of your role. You’ll leverage our partners and stakeholders, you know which journalists matter to the stories you are telling and what makes them tick. You’ll be on top of all new media as well as traditional media and you’ll be both a sounding board and the creator of media strategies for the campaigns we are putting to market
- Strategy and creativity support - you are creatively driven and can map a PR plan no matter the brief. You know how to develop briefs for our agency partners and then review and filter thinking that drives the most impact for the announcements we need to land
Your experience and capability
- 5+ years’ Publicity experience and always pushing boundaries and learning from one to the next within Media & Entertainment industries (Agency highly desirable)
- Storytelling and editorial expertise, we’re looking for someone who consumes and engages with the media and culture on a daily basis, loves to talk about it and share it with others
- Project management expertise, you’ll have the skills to manage campaigns / projects from end-to-end
- Highly organised and accountable, you are self-motivated, possess integrity and able to work autonomously across multiple teams
- Integrated communications expertise – from earned to owned to the large scale never before been done to 360 marketing campaigns
- Publicity and talent experience, understands how to navigate the world of publicity from talent to schedules to interviews to junkets
