Your new role
The position holder will assist with the development and implementation of engagement and communications activities. The role will strengthen engagement with the public and will assist with the development of content to support the organisation.
1. Contribute to the delivery of the communications strategy, including the media and communications-related deliverables specific to creating safe, inclusive, and respectful workplaces.
2. Deliver and provide advice on a broad set of communications responsibilities, including drafting and placement of media releases and creative content, drafting copy for newsletters, internal communications and other communications products, including annual reports and responding to media enquiries.
3. Identify risks and opportunities and ensure content is accurate, relevant and is in line with guidelines.
Key challenges:
- Translate complex information into clear and simple concepts for communication materials and ensuring all communications are accurate, appropriate, risk-sensitive, and timely.
-Work across several platforms and present material that will engage the audience and deliver the information within the timelines.
-Liaise with a variety of work areas in the organisation to ensure that the diverse work of the organisation is represented in the products and services delivered under the Communications, Engagement and Education strategy.
Key knowledge and experience
- Highly developed writing skills with demonstrated experience with drafting communications materials for a range of channels and audiences.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated a capacity to develop and maintain productive and professional internal relationships.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of communication practices, tools, and techniques as well as social media.
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, journalism, media, or other relevant discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience.
- Ability to track and report on data analytics.
- Demonstrated effective organisational and administrative ability, including working as part of a team in a fast-changing environment, and working productively to deadlines.
