Communications Specialist - Mining Industry
Are you an experienced Communications Specialist or Corporate Affairs professional with a passion for driving proactive communication and engagement strategies? Key Responsibilities:
As a Communications Specialist you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing communication and engagement plans. Your responsibilities will include:
- Proactive Communication and Engagement: Develop, implement, and measure the effectiveness of proactive communication and engagement strategies and plans.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with senior managers and operational staff across our Australian mining business.
- Content Development: Prepare diverse communication materials, including media statements, multi-media campaigns, media interviews (Print and Broadcast), monthly updates, presentations, and email updates.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, providing expertise to deliver effective communication activities
- Social Media Contribution: Support the digital and social media team by contributing to the development of social media content and daily reporting on social media activity.
Candidate Preferences:
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Media and Communications Expertise: Journalism and communications experience with the ability to deliver high-level proactive communications to media and key audiences across traditional and digital media.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with a range of internal stakeholders with varying interests and priorities.
- Initiative and Results-Oriented: Takes initiative and has the ability to deliver results in a dynamic, face-paced environment working across multiple projects with conflicting deadlines.
- Creativity and Attention to Detail: Creativity, curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to understand what is newsworthy for different internal and external audiences.
- Effective Communication: Ability to present complex, sometimes technical, information to key audiences in a simple and compelling manner.
- Digital and Social Media: Experience in digital and social media strategy would be viewed favorably.
