The Role
The successful person will become a member of a hardworking and committed team.
You will be responsible for:
- Foster a unified "team" atmosphere within maintenance personnel to align with Mining Department objectives
- Optimize resource management to minimize costs effectively
- Contribute maintenance insights for equipment selection to enhance mining fleet performance
- Encourage innovation and employee engagement to drive continuous improvement in work practices
- Ensure strict adherence to quality control procedures in line with equipment manufacturer recommendations
- Efficiently oversee Mining RIMS components throughout the dispatch process on site
- Prioritize on-the-job safety protocols and compliance requirements
- Monitor work tasks closely and provide assistance in resolving any associated issues promptly
- Support in the setup and review of planned daily tasks for maintenance activities
- Conduct toolbox talks and team safety meetings to promote a safety-conscious work environment
About You
This role would suit a mechanically proficient leader. You will also have:
- Trade Certificate in Heavy Duty Mechanics
- WA ‘C’ ‘HR’ class drivers’ licence
- Cert IV in Front line management (preferred)
- High Risk Work Forklift licence
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Lead Hand or similar in heavy earthmoving
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in mining of similar size and scale
- Experience on Caterpillar and Hitachi heavy equipment
- Strong leadership and motivational experience
- Experience in safety, quality, environmental and maintenance management systems
- Demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas
- Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels
- Confident communicator with senior management, legal entities, and external stakeholders
