CARERS VICTORIA
Carers Victoria is the peak body for unpaid carers in Victoria. Our purpose is to advance understanding of Victoria’s unpaid carers and improve their access to assistance. Our teams provide services and advice for carers living in Victoria including education workshops, programs, and events across the state.
THE POSITION
We are seeking a creative Communications Specialist to join us in producing compelling materials that support Victoria’s 700,000+ unpaid carers. Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will employ excellent writing skills and implementing innovative digital strategies to deepen engagement across digital and offline channels.
Core responsibilities of the role include:
- Contributing to the development and delivery of high-quality communications representing Carers Victoria, including EDMs, an internal newsletter, a monthly eBulletin, speeches, printed collateral, and website copy.
- Ensuring all Carers Victoria communications are of high quality and meet style guide.
- Assist team members with growing Carers Victoria’s online audience through the development and implementation of engagement strategies, including social media.
- Support coordinating internal and external suppliers for production of marketing communications collateral.
- Leverages latest digital tools and channels to craft compelling messaging that inspires action.
- Providing support to the Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications as required.
- Partner with the policy and advocacy team to produce compelling materials that drive awareness and create real change for carers.
- Flex your project management and creative skills on diverse communications initiatives.
THE PERSON
This exciting opportunity will suit an individual who is looking for a role that makes a difference. To be successful in this role you would have:
- Demonstrated experience in a marketing communications or public relations role
- Demonstrated ability to implement a successful marketing and communications strategy.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
- Proven experience handling multiple activities and priorities simultaneously with strong organisational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated superior editorial and copywriting experience and skills, with impeccable spelling, grammar and attention to detail, ability to adjust style and tone, including writing for online platforms.
- Digitally savvy and ability to use digital and multimedia tools for communication
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and clearly communicate complex concepts and data both in text and diagrams as appropriate for a variety of audiences.
- Strong relationship building skills.
