Marketing Communications Specialist
- Salary Range Band 6 $93,459 - $101,873 plus 11% Super (pro rata)
- Part time permanent position (0.6 FTE)
- This role works on key promotions and campaigns for City of Port Phillip events, tourism and business support, in a high performing marketing and communications team
- Located at St Kilda Town Hall with flexible working arrangements possible.
About the Organisation
The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. About the Role
Would suit a marketing professional with experience in tourism, arts and events marketing. Play a key role in the delivery of key marketing and communications activity that supports our local events, traders, high streets, arts programming and more. Deliver editorial, organic and paid social media content, media plans, collateral and more for a range of Council priorities. Be an integral part of a talented, high-performing team with a fantastic team culture.
Duties:
- Promote local events, Businesses, arts and tourism initiatives
- Develop content for What’s On and CoPP digital channels
- Assist in the planning and implementation marketing and communications campaigns
- Plan, schedule and monitor content across CoPP social media channels
- Advise teams within Council on best marketing and communication practices.
Skills and Experience
- Degree or diploma in Marketing or other relevant formal qualification
- 5+ years experience in Marketing, Communications or other relevant field
- Experience of events, arts and/or tourism marketing
- Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and measuring marketing campaigns
- Demonstrated experience in writing long form content and copy for digital channels, including social media.
- Demonstrated experience in the development of original content for digital channels
- Demonstrated experience working in a cross-organisational context and an ability to build positive and constructive working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
