Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of policies, procedures, and resources to support Council officers engaging with people experiencing homelessness.
- Strategically advocate for solutions to address immediate and emerging sector priorities.
- Establish and nurture working relationships with key stakeholders and local organizations.
- Respond to inquiries and facilitate connections between individuals experiencing homelessness and appropriate services.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support sector priorities.
- Share stories to increase community understanding and reduce stigma around homelessness.
- Collaborate with local organizations to review and improve service guides.
- Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Community Development trends and local government responsibilities.
- Experience in budget management.
- Possession of a current "C" class driver's license.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours.
