Job description

About The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation

We make an impact by funding life-changing medical research to help people live healthier for longer. Through the power of the collective, we support and facilitate the work of incredible researchers who are dedicated to making breakthroughs in the areas of heart disease, lung disease, mental health and ageing.

Researchers rely on time to make medical discoveries that go on to save lives. Our goal is to provide them with as much time as possible in the hopes of changing lives for the better.

We are also proud to support hospital innovation and patient care initiatives at both The Prince Charles Hospital and Caboolture Hospital.

Your impact

At The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation, your role isn’t just a job; it’s a chance to contribute to impactful research that transforms lives on a significant scale.

Every day, your efforts can make a difference in the lives of those affected by health conditions, both now and for generations to come. It’s an opportunity to leave a legacy you can be proud of.

As a people-focused organisation, whether it’s our supporters, community members, researchers, volunteers, or each other, people are at the heart of everything we do.

The role

The Community Engagement & Events Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the Community Engagement & Events Manager in the successful execution of the Foundation’s Community Engagement program.

Reporting directly to the Community Engagement & Events Manager, the Community Engagement & Events Coordinator will contribute to the development and growth of key events and community initiatives.

This role will focus on building and nurturing relationships with community groups, organisations, and Third-Party fundraisers. The role will also play an important role in the delivery of the Foundation's annual events calendar.

Who are you?

  • A warm, genuine and authentic person who is passionate about connecting people to a cause.
  • A team player who enjoys collaborating with and supporting others.
  • An excellent communicator and understands the value of building relationships.
Key Responsibilities

Event Coordination

  • Collaborate with the Community Engagement & Events Manager to plan and execute community events and initiatives that contribute to our fundraising goals.
  • Assist in coordinating logistics and managing stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of both owned and beneficiary events.

Community Engagement

  • Support the implementation of strategies to enhance Community Engagement, participation, and ownership of fundraising activities.
  • Proactively engage with users of digital fundraising platforms, providing assistance, and ensuring a positive fundraising experience.

Content Development

  • Assist in developing engaging content and activations that align with the foundation's goals and outcomes.
  • Provide support in creating collateral and materials needed to support fundraising efforts.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Assist in monitoring engagement tactics and outcomes, providing valuable insights to inform future strategies.
  • Support in compiling and presenting reports on Community Engagement and event performance as directed.
  • Assisting the Community Engagement and Events Manager with general administration duties as required.

Stakeholder Relations

  • Promote the Foundation’s work by presenting to community groups, donors, volunteers and internal stakeholders, showcasing opportunities to support our mission.
  • Act as a liaison between the Foundation and external partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Proactively assist in the coordination of community volunteering opportunities.
Key criteria

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Previous experience in event coordination, Community Engagement, or fundraising preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in digital platforms and tools, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Experience in public speaking and delivering presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout QLD (and possibly interstate) and on occasion work nights and weekends as required.
  • QLD driver’s license.
What can we offer you?

Culture is important to us.  We want people who come to work (and leave to go home!) with a smile on their face.

We offer an incredibly supportive team, a relaxed working environment, staff development and training opportunities, a competitive salary with the added bonus of salary packaging to significantly increase your take home pay, free parking and discounted coffee!
