Employment Status: Full Time Permanent

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is offering a fantastic opportunity for a passionate community minded individual to join our Community Rangers team. We are looking for a Community Ranger (experienced person) or a Ranger (no experience person) to fill the vacant position.

The position is primarily Monday to Friday but also requires weekends, public holidays and on call (after hours) – on a rotating basis.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Handling and control of dogs, cats and other animals in the pound and actively in the field daily. Experience working with animals is preferred
  • Patrol public areas for any contravention of litter, parking, animal, thoroughfare and verge offences.
  • Interpret and enforce relevant Acts, Regulations, local laws and policies in your day-to-day duties.
  • Actively conduct investigations, gather evidence, take statements and prepare briefs.
  • Conduct daily reports and data entry into investigations and other related administrative tasks.

Who we are looking for:

Ranger/Community Ranger:

  • Highly motivated individual, who has the ability to deal with challenging customers at times, whilst having a strong passion and commitment for customer service.
  • Strong team player with proven ability to work autonomously with initiative, forward thinking and capacity to solve problems and make decisions;
  • High level communication skills, negotiation and conflict resolution skills and interpersonal skills including ability to liaise effectively and confidently with internal and external customers and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal clients and/or business units and external stakeholder
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Present professionalism at all times whilst reflecting the City’s core values and ethics

Additional Community Ranger Requirements:

  • Hold Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS) 1 and 2
  • Previous experience as a Local Government Ranger, Parking Officer and/or Regulatory, Governance experience

Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position ranges between;

  • Community Ranger - Salary Range $76,988 - $83,321 plus additional loadings;
  • Ranger - Salary Range $69,073 - $75,405 plus additional loadings.
