- Salary commencing at $106,194 per annum (pro rata) plus 11% superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience

The Opportunity
This position will see you supporting Moonee Valley City Council’s community in recovery after the October 2022 Maribyrnong River flood. Reporting to the Senior Coordinator Emergency & Resilience, this position will work with communities to identify needs, develop and deliver local recovery and resilience programs, assist in accessing information and resources, and provide leadership and community capacity building. It will also lead community emergency preparedness and resilience campaigns, in partnership with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Work with affected communities and key stakeholders to develop, implement, and evaluate a range of recovery initiatives.
- Ensure community flood recovery needs are well understood so that recovery information, events and activities are tailored to meet local needs.
- Deliver Person-Centered Emergency Management Preparedness (PCEP) training.
- Deliver municipal recovery initiatives and programs.
- Maintain effective and cooperative communication with all stakeholders, including state government departments, community agencies, local services, and businesses to progress actions across all pillars of recovery.
- Build community resilience to respond to emergency risks and future disasters.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in emergency management, Community Recovery, working with vulnerable clients, and working with non-profit organisations or other related organisations.
- Recognised training and experience in community resilience, Municipal Recovery Management and Emergency Management or a related discipline is desirable.
- Strong focus on community and community needs in service delivery or during the emergency recovery process.
- Highly developed communications skills (written and verbal) with the ability to develop strong working relationships both internally and externally.
