At ANZ our purpose is to shape a world where people and communities thrive and to achieve this, we need a talented Competition Risk Senior Manager to join our Competition Risk team. The Competition Risk team sits within Group Compliance and makes sure ANZ complies with its obligations under applicable competition laws and ANZ’s global competition policy.
Risk is a critical function, with highly valued and innovative teams that enable ANZ to deliver its purpose.
The Competition Risk Senior Manageris critical to making this happen and will will work closely with the Competition Risk Lead to manage and maintain the global Competition Risk program, lead and support the development of others in the team, and to assist the business with effectively managing Competition Risks and assessing and reporting on compliance with the ANZ global Competition Policy and standards.
This role would suit an experienced specialist, preferably with strong Competition Risk management and/or competition law experience at a law firm, a competition regulator, or at a major corporate. You who would like to join a team of competition law compliance specialists and risk management professionals.
What a typical day might look like…
In our team, it’s often the case that no two days are the same. We operate as the risk theme delegates for managing Competition Risk across the enterprise. You’ll find yourself:
- Developing and improving governance practices and processes to support the program
- Assisting business with effective management of Competition Risks through advisory support and targeted risk management activities
- Leading or supporting regulator engagements and interactions, policy submissions or responses
- Developing and conducting training and other awareness activities
- Engaging stakeholders across the bank to understand and influence how Competition Risk is identified, managed, and mitigated
- Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including executives and senior management, first and second line risk and governance colleagues, Legal and business teams across the ANZ Group in Australia and internationally
- Supporting ANZ’s Non-Financial Risk transformation program
What will you bring?
- Deep competition law knowledge and experience at a law firm, a competition regulator, or a major corporate
- Otherwise corporate, commercial or financial services risk management with some experience with Competition Risk
- Tertiary degree in law or related field
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Strategic thinking and oversight
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to influence and negotiate change
- Problem solver
- Planning and prioritisation
- Data insights and reporting
- Leading and team building
