About the role
The Compliance Business Partner is responsible for delivering the effective operation of the Compliance Framework and associated compliance work programs of the Fund.
This role provides oversight and expert direction on building, maintaining, and reporting of the Fund’s Compliance Framework and programs that meet the Fund’s compliance obligations and support the delivery of strategy and business outcomes.
This role works proactively and collaboratively across all business units of the Fund as well as with key service providers, auditors, and regulators to ensure the Fund’s compliance obligations are met.
You will be responsible for,
- Supporting and developing a high-performing Compliance Team who partner out across business units to ensure that compliance obligations are met and the delivery of strategy.
- Building relationships and influencing stakeholders as part of being a trusted adviser to the business by applying the Business Partnership model.
- Overseeing the recording, management and resolution of breach and incident reporting.
- Promoting a strong compliance culture across the organization through the delivery of compliance training programs and other compliance initiatives to support this culture.
- Supporting senior managers in broader decision making in the Fund by delivering clear and concise communication of compliance issues and operational impacts.
- Providing compliance communications across the Fund on compliance obligation changes, programs and breaches/incidents
- Maintenance of core compliance governance arrangements, policies, and procedures to ensure the Fund’s Compliance Framework and other programs are operating effectively.
- Providing reporting on the operations of the Fund’s Compliance Framework.
- Supporting the preparation and completion of any necessary regulatory lodgments including responding to notices and other regulatory activity.
- Oversight and monitoring of activities to ensure the Fund is aware of its obligations and complies with the Privacy Act, Superannuation Industry (Supervisions) Act, Corporations Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act, Trust Deed, regulatory licenses, Prudential Standards, regulatory guidance and all relevant legislation.
- Ideally 2 + years’ experience in compliance or related roles, with an emphasis in financial services, particularly superannuation, would be advantageous.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related subject area would be highly regarded.
- RG146 qualification is preferred. If successful, the candidate is expected to complete the RG146 course.
- Experience in working within a financial institution compliance team delivering a range of compliance programs would be highly regarded.
- Experience in implementing a Business Partnership model within a 3 lines of assurance program, would be advantageous.
- A good working knowledge of Financial Services Law as it affects superannuation, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organisational skills and strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills to deal effectively with internal and external contacts.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver member and employer communications that comply with regulatory requirements and support a message that is clear, concise, and easy to read.
- Demonstrated ability to support delivery of advice programs that are able to satisfy both member and regulatory needs.
