The Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a full time Compliance Manager to join our team based in Prestons. This role will be responsible for ensuring the business operates within the rules/policies implemented by the business including any regulatory and certification bodies that need to be either implemented or adhered to. They will be responsible for the development and improvement of Compliance standards across the business and be the escalation point for addressing any compliance issues.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining a compliance culture within the organisation
- Liaising with external stakeholders including suppliers, regulatory and certification bodies in regard to product quality, safety and compliance with Australian standards
- Advise business stakeholders on changes to relevant Australian Product Standards
- Maintenance of regulatory licences/registrations (eg AICIS, Food Business, GS1, TGA)
- Development and administration of recall program
- Assist with development and documentation of processes and policies
- New Product development – product compliance and labelling assessments
- Issuing of non-conformance reports to suppliers
- Assessment of food/beverage products for compliance with relevant legislation
- Create corrective labelling templates for imported products for Labelling Team
- Produce products specification sheets for all house-brand food and beverages
- Provide compliance advice for all products across the Gateway Group including dangerous goods
- Management of Intellectual property portfolio
- Authorising of Safety Data Sheets (for imported products)
- Training of personnel in relevant compliance requirements
- Manage escalated customer complaints
- Administration of HACCP program
- Identify opportunities (process improvement) for utilizing new and emerging driven technologies and implement in a cost-effective manner
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- At least 5 + years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience in the FMCG/Wholesale/Distributors industry
- Excellent customer relations skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to dynamic and time-sensitive situations.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience in HACCP program requirements
- Experience in compliance requirements for food/beverage, electrical, personal care and household consumer products within Australian and NZ markets
- Knowledge of dangerous goods requirements at distribution and road transport levels.
- Experience in intellectual property rights including management of applications for Trademarks and Designs.
