As Legal Manager, your central responsibility will be to drive a culture of effective relationship management through global oversight, execution and management of Thiess Compliance and Company Secretary team. You will oversee global compliance management, including training development and adherence to legislative requirements. Additonally, you will maintain a comprehensive policy framework, collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage contract limits, and liaise with industry bodies. Additionally, the role involves drafting statutory reports, managing company secretarial duties, and implementing actions at various organisational levels.Additionally, you will:Lead global compliance efforts, including training development and ensuring adherence to legislative and licensing requirements.Establish and maintain a comprehensive policy framework in collaboration with cross-functional teams.Manage contract limits and maintain an up-to-date suite of contracts for commercial transactions.Collaborate with Heads of Legal and Commercial from different regions and engage with industry bodies.Draft statutory reports and collaborate with the ESG team on Sustainability Reports.Manage the Reportable Conduct Group and Stopline.Deliver Code of Conduct and Commercial Contracts training.Handle major legacy litigation matters and manage intellectual property.Mentoring and developing team members.About youYou possess a strong ability to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders, demonstrating integrity in all interactions. You have excellent commercial acumen and communication skills, both verbal and written and are able to provide practical, innovative and commercial legal advice as required. You are proactive, able to take initiative, and thrive in high-pressure situations while maintaining flexibility.Additionally, you have:A formal education in Law and admitted to legal practiceA current practicing certificate preferredExternal law firm experience preferredExperience in resources industry preferredAppropriate skills in Microsoft systems including Sites, PowerPoint and ExcelPlease note that this role will be a permanent full-time position and applications will close on the 8 May 2024.What Thiess can do for you
