Compliance Officer – Tamworth or Armidale
We have an opportunity for a Compliance Officer to provide critical professional support to our people who are based in multiple locations.
The role is full time, however it could be tailored to part time hours for the right candidate. We are also flexible on location with the opportunity to be based in either Tamworth or Armidale.

Your duties will include
- Completing activities required for ongoing compliance of our Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) with the support of an external compliance consultant.
- Overseeing our Peer Review processes, seeking legal and technical support where required.
- Manage our corporate risk mitigation plan
- Responding to specific legal, governance, risk incidents including working closely with the Leadership Team for resolution
- Overseeing compliance with Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) and liaising with Human Resources (HR) in terms of incidents
- Researching and providing advice on changes in industry regulations
- Building new guidance, policy and processes
- Overseeing the firm’s quality control requirements including compliance with firm policy, along with all professional bodies, regulatory bodies and legislative standards.
- Look to the strategic compliance horizon to help our people, clients and community meet their obligations and provide surety on their professional needs.
What we are looking for
- Experience in a compliance role or some legal background, such as a law university degree, paralegal and or other legal experience would be ideal but not essential.
- Willingness to develop new skills and learn on the job given the unique objectives of the role
- Be people focused and create and maintain strong relationships at all organisational levels, especially our Leadership team, while working in an autonomous role
- Inherent ability to maintain personal ethics, integrity, discretion, privacy and develop trust in their relationships.
- Be organised and disciplined to manage competing tasks and outcomes.
