Job description

We've been trusted to serve Aussie communities since 1914 and grown to become a top 30-listed on the ASX with 120,000 team members and a portfolio of iconic brands. At Coles Group, you'll not only get to make a difference to millions of Aussie lives-you'll also get to see your impact.

About the team

Property looks after one of Australia's most dynamic portfolios. Coles Group has over 2,500 retail locations around Australia-and we're growing every day. Our team manages every one of these locations. And we work side-by-side with our business units on all things in the property lifecycle, from site acquisition through to asset management.

A new opportunity as Construction Project Manager has arisen within our passionate high-performance Melbourne-based Construction team.

About the role

Reporting to the State Construction Manager, you'll be empowered to lead the coordination of the critical path of the Construction Project life cycle. You'll drive project planning, scheduling, administration, resource allocation, delivery, cost management, quality, and safety.

This is the perfect opportunity for an ambitious Construction Project Manager who is looking for development and a supportive career path.

You'll also

  • Coordinate inputs of internal stakeholders, consultants, and contractors
  • Monitor the progress of building and project activities
  • Ensure activities are sequenced to pre-determined schedules
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions with consultants and contractors
  • Recommend design improvements, cost and time saving improvements
  • Reinforce business requirements and standards to internal and external project stakeholders.

About you and your skills

Coming from a builder or in-house, you have a minimum of 5 years of Construction Project Management experience; working on medium to large construction or fit out projects ideally in retail, industrial or commercial.

Tertiary qualified in Construction / Project Management, you demonstrate strong cost and programme control experience with excellent attention to detail.

Core to your success will be your top-notch stakeholder engagement and influencing skills coupled with your ability to deliver solutions under pressure at pace.

You'll also have

  • An understanding of agreements for development plans, building specifications and costs
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Excellent report writing, budget management, and planning skills
  • Effective time management skills.

Take your next step into something bigger, apply now

With us it's not about the discounts (although you do get those), it's about joining a team where your wellbeing and professional development is invested in and celebrating your contributions is the norm. And because everyone leads unique lives, we offer flexible work including work from home, additional leave and parental leave entitlements.

We're continuing to build a gender equitable team, and a culture that's just as diverse, inclusive and welcoming as the communities we serve. We encourage applications from people of all ages, cultures (including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples), abilities, sexual orientation and gender identities.

We're happy to adjust our recruitment process to support candidates with disability. Find out more in the 'Our Recruitment Process' section of our careers site.
