The Role
Sitting within a high-growth section of our award-winning Project Management division, we are currently seeking expressions of interest for a Construction Supervisor / A-Class Builder to join the team as a Licensed Nominee – becoming a statutory Director and holder of our Australian Company Construction Licence. This will be a key role in overseeing construction projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety across a broad range of True Principal construction projects (excluding new-builds) nationally across the government and commercial landscape.
Reporting into the Senior Director of Project Management for our Enterprise Division and in collaboration with our Local Division, you will help to shape long-term strategy, assist in the growth of new markets, and build out a specialised team to support this growth.
Flexible office location (Sydney or Canberra preferred). Estimated start date – Q1 of 2024.
A typical day will involve:
- Overseeing principal risk projects across interior fit-out, MEP / life-cycle replacements and renovations across a national portfolio of commercial, government, industrial and logistics clients.
- As the business grows – hiring and leading a team of direct reports, building out in-location capabilities at a national level.
- Serving as a primary point of contact for compliance with relevant building codes, regulations and industry standards, ensuring active application of Risk Management and Value Engineering.
- Providing leadership, coordination and supervision to construction personnel and contractors.
- Providing periodic spot-audits of project documentation, and occasionally attending sites to facilitate inspections.
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with Directors, Project Managers, Clients and Sub-Contractors.
- Implementing a robust cashflow management approach to projects, and overseeing the allocation and utilisation of resources in accordance with budgetary constraints.
- Supporting the solution for framework and individual project proposals as part of a broader team.
Requirements
- ESSENTIAL - Accreditation as a licensed A-Class Builder (Commercial and Limited Structural Fitout).
- PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL– Experience in delivering government projects.
- Strong experience within commercial fitouts and refurbishments.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role overseeing construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of Australian Standards, building codes, regulations and safety standards.
- Knowledge and understanding of design, construction and supply-oriented contracts.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, and a drive to succeed.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Drivers' License, and ability to travel occasionally as required.
