Apprenticeships Queensland has been training and providing employment opportunities for over 38 years In the Ipswich region and is looking for an experienced qualified carpenter to continue to run its Skilling Queenslanders for Work Program. Working with women you will complete a residential renovation project in Ipswich while preparing the participants to enter the construction industry. Participants will gain a Certificate 1 in Construction with training partner Tafe Queensland. Full time position with immediate start and on- going employment or contract position for 6 months depending on the preference of the applicant.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- deliver house renovation & extension within agreed time frames
- schedule and liaise with various construction trades
- identify and resolve issues
- provide practical training for trainees undertaking Certificate I in Construction
- must be able to coordinate and manage a group of up to 8 trainees on job site
- provide coaching and support to contribute to a friendly and cohesive team environment
- Mentor trainees requiring assistance
The Successful Candidate will have:
- Certificate III Carpentry
- Supervision experience
- Strong Work Place & Health & Safety knowledge
- Be efficient, confident and proactive
- Develop effective working relationships
