The Role:
We are looking for a Consultant, Governance & Risk to join our tight knit team in our North Sydney office. With strong stakeholder management skills, you will work across the Customer Operations team to develop and implement our risk framework and appropriate oversight and governance disciplines in order to deliver optimal financial results and support the delivery of a leading customer service experience.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Staying abreast of current and emerging regulatory trends and drawing insights on potential impacts to the Customer Operations function;
- Drafting relevant communications including internal and external correspondence, reports and presentations;
- Driving cross-collaboration and partnering with support functions across MLC Life to ensure consistency of tools and best practice;
- Identifying issues and obstacles before they escalate to "Risk", and using MLC's Risk register to identify, monitor and mitigate risks;
- Proactively managing risk to meet all policy and compliance requirements, deploy and monitor performance of controls, adhere to processes and procedures pertinent to the role, and escalate events, issues or breaches as they are identified;
- Supporting the business on regulatory change risk impacts; and
- Participating in relevant reinsurance audits, internal audits, or any other escalated claims risk matters that may arise from the audit findings.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in risk management, compliance or a technical claims environment and an understanding of legislation and regulations affecting the industry. Degree qualified, you will have exceptional written communication skills, a resilient nature and the ability to cope with changing priorities. You will also have the ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively to deliver results.
