We have an opportunity for a Governance Officer- Risk and Compliance to join a supportive NSW Government team on an initial 6-month contract. The role will focus on supporting the development and implementation of risk management and organizational compliance policies, strategies and governance processes. As well as conducting risk assessments, evaluations and Compliance reviews and promoting a culture of effective risk management and governance.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Develop and maintain the risk management and Compliance frameworks and related policies and guides
- Provide advice to staff on the governance issues on Government policy, conduct, best practice and risk management.
- Promote a culture of effective risk management through conducting risk assessments, risk evaluations and providing advice to managers
- Conducting compliance reviews.
- Review internal reports, disclosures and process them including those under investigation.
- Support the Audit and Risk Committee.
- Delivering training aimed at enabling managers and staff to manage Risk and Compliance obligations
- Prepare management reports on risk management performance and internal controls
- Support the delivery of the ethics and internal audit functions
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in delivery of corporate governance, risk management, compliance management or policy management services.
- Be able to stay up-to-date with best practices in line with industry standards.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Knowledge of best practice in governance approaches and methodologies
- Police background check and WWC check or willing to obtain
- High level of written and communication skills and attention to detail
