WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is seeking Consultant Physicians – General Medicine to fill vacancies in regional Western Australia.
This Recruitment Pool is for Fixed Term appointments at full time and part time hours for 5 years (lesser period can be negotiated) with the possibility for extension(s)
WACHS is seeking experienced Consultant General Medicine Physicians who are wanting to take advantage of the relaxed country lifestyle with plenty of open space, affordable housing and a short commute to work without the hustle and bustle of the city traffic. - Goldfields region – Kalgoorlie Hospital
- Great Southern region – Albany Health Campus

- Midwest region – Geraldton Health Campus
- Pilbara - Hedland Health Campus and Karratha Health Campus

Suitable candidates must be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA), hold fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent as well as demonstrated skills in General Medicine, High Dependency Care and Coronary Care at senior level. You must have highly developed communication, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with a commitment to clinical governance within healthcare. Significant experience in rural and remote General Medicine provision and sound understanding of remote area health service provision is desirable.
Remuneration: The advertised salary range is based on the following classifications under the WA Health System –Medical Practitioners - AMA Industrial Agreement 2022. The ranges below are inclusive of base salary, professional development allowance, 11% superannuation and on call allowance (North of 26th Parallel only). The classification will be based on but not limited to factors such as your qualifications, experience, type of medical registration and location of the role.
- Consultant Year 1 to 9 - South of 26th Parallel – $375,863 to $473,828
- Consultant Year 1 to 6 - North of 26th Parallel - $514,413 to $611,183
