ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a person who will be a key part in managing tendering and contract management for the Infrastructure division. Reporting to the Contract Delivery Manager, you will be providing strategic advice to drive robust commercial outcomes for Infrastructure contracts inline with the Contract Management Framework. This role will ensure that financial, operational, and legal requirements are met or exceeded, whilst minimising procurement risks.
This is a full time, maximum term position for 24 months located at E-Gate Infrastructure Depot, Docklands.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive the best commercial business outcomes in leading and managing contracts and tenders across the Infrastructure portfolio of complex projects.
- Deliver strategic management of contractual relationships with contractors and suppliers.
- Conduct negotiations with subcontractors and ensure all subcontractor agreements are closely aligned to Metro Trains Melbourne risk management principals.
- Conduct contract management tasks and provide guidance to contract managers including but not limited to evaluation of variations and claims, invoice reconciliation and preparation of contractual notices
- Drive contract compliance activities, supervise and ensure all contracts are managed within accordance of the contractual obligations and relevant legislations.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, legal, commerce or business
- Minimum 5 years' experience in managing medium to large “Infrastructure” contracts
- Understanding of contract law terminology and ability to translate contractual clauses and obligations for relevant stakeholders
- Knowledge of AS4000 and AS2124 and other Australian standard contract suits
- Contract Workspace experience in SAP Ariba desirable
- Background in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred
