About the role:
We are looking for a Contracts Manager to initially join our Cleveland – Redland Bay Road project team, providing commercial support to the project team before moving to a head office role in Eight Mile Plains upon project completion.
- Maintain up to date knowledge and application of, legislation, industry standards and technological innovations as relevant to your role.
- Provide commercial advice to Pre-Contracts regarding potential Client contract conditions.
- Supports Project Commercial Manager/Project Manager
- Evaluate, document, submit and negotiate delay notices.
- Monitor the tender evaluation and recommendation process.
- Assess high risk activities during tender negotiations and in conjunction with appropriate personnel recommends approach to be taken.
- Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers during tender negotiations.
- Understand all documentation enabling the preparation and completion of accurate and thorough subcontract scopes of works.
- Review subcontract agreements including standard and special conditions relevant to the specific trades including:
- Support the Project commercial Manager/ Project Manager in reporting processes.
Ideally, you will have the following experience:
- Relevant formal qualifications (degree, diploma, certificate in financial or commercial administration).
- Extensive experience in commercial/contracts management in a principal contractor environment.
- Experience with and understanding of Company procurement and commercial processes and procedures
- Experience with and understanding of financial/cost/project management system and processes
- Demonstrated understanding of Client head contract documents (relevant State authorities)
- Demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation (Building Code, BIF, BCIPA, BICSPA, etc)
- Understanding of Company subcontract terms and their implications for project delivery and risk
