Due to internal promotion, Payne Butler Lang Solicitors are seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and determined individual to come on board with our firm as a Conveyancing Assistant. This is a demanding role and will require a person who can learn at a fast pace, work under pressure and is able to take direction.
This role would be ideally suited to a law student or a person looking to start their career.
Key responsibilities: -
- assisting and providing administrative support to our conveyancing team;
- develop knowledge of conveyancing transactions and grow within the role to offer further support to the conveyancing team;
- opening files & closing files;
- ordering searches;
- drafting of initial letters/correspondence;
- stamp duty;
- preparation, lodgement and receipting of Department of Resources lodgements; and
- general duties as required by the supervising Partner, Solicitors or conveyancing clerk including mailing, filing and attending settlements.
To be considered for this position you will: -
- be reliable with the ability to work from 8.30am to 5.06pm Monday to Friday;
- be highly self-motivated and focused;
- be professional and friendly communication, both written and verbal;
- have a strong attention to detail, this is a must;
- have excellent computer skills;
- be client serviced focused;
- have exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize;
- possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
- be a team player that is personable, confident, and self-motivated.
