An exceptional opportunity has become available to join Light Regional Council’s Development Services Team. The role is based in Freeling, located only approximately an hour north of Adelaide’s CBD with great connectors such as the Northern Expressway and Gawler Bypass, home to a diverse range of development and residential growth opportunities.
As the Coordinator - Building Surveyor, the role is responsible to undertake assessments of development applications and required inspections during construction, supporting Council’s Building Fire Safety Committee and for providing sound technical and procedural advice regarding development matters to the organisation and broader community. You will also lead a small, dynamic team of professional staff responsible for administering Council’s statutory obligations under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act and the National Construction Code.
Council offers experience in a rural area featuring a portion of the internationally renowned Barossa Valley, iconic historic townships and settlements and the Roseworthy Township Expansion, providing a diversity of development assessment opportunities.

To be successful in this role all applicants will have:- A degree-qualified professional with knowledge with the National Construction Code, Plan SA Portal and current processes;
- An Accredited Professional (Level 1 or 2);
