Job description

The Role

We are currently seeking a Coordinator to join the Communities for Children team. As the Coordinator - Communities for Children, you will be responsible for the management and delivery of the Communities for Children (CfC) Facilitating Partner initiative and for local representation and site management of Communicare’s site in Armadale.

The CfC program provides early intervention and prevention programs to improve early childhood development and wellbeing For Children aged birth to 18 years and their families. The role provides effective operational and community leadership to ensure the delivery of quality and coordinated services that achieve exceptional outcomes for people and communities.

This role is responsible for supporting a system change approach to improve outcomes For Children and families living within the CfC region and ensuring the delivery of services in line with CfC program objectives through the development of high-performing teams, collaboration, and planning.

This position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis, working 76 hours per fortnight.

Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in Community Development; Social Work; Psychology; Social Science or similar field; or significant experience in leading community programs
  • Relevant experience in a similar role, including working with children, families and community leading the delivery of community based services and programs.
  • Advanced stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and alliances with a variety of stakeholders including government and community services sector representatives.
  • Advanced people management skills, including the ability to lead and manage people and resources to achieve consistent outcomes, and provide professional supervision.
  • Advanced organisational skills, including the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Advanced computing, numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Advanced communication (written, verbal and public speaking), interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong culturally safe practice and knowledge to ensure the cultural safety of clients, including those from an Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) background.
  • Awareness of the Australian Government Social Policy agenda For Children and families.
  • Satisfactory Police clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)
  • Unrestricted drivers’ licence 
  • Working With Children Check
