Are you experienced in project management and passionate delivering Community Projects to our region?
Central Highlands Regional Council has an exciting opportunity for a Coordinator Community Projects to join the team!
We are looking for an experienced project coordinator who is a highly skilled collaborator, holds exceptional organisation and time management skills and has the ability to build rapport with various stakeholders.
In this newly created role you will work with asset owners and stakeholders to deliver the annual and multi-year capital programs within the Communities department in accordance with councils strategic management plans.
In this busy role, your will support the organisation by:
- Provide expert advice to asset owners to assist in the development of annual and long-term capital budgets and works programs ensuring correlation to council’s strategic asset management plans
- Think at the ‘big picture’ level; entertain wide‐ranging possibilities in developing a vision for the future; work across several timeframes; translate strategic direction into day‐to-day activities
- Lead and mentor a small and dedicated team
- Building strong relationships with the business units to ensure contract and procurement compliance on all projects across council
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:
- Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers licence.
- Suitable qualifications in Project management or relevant field.
- Operational, project management and strategic experience in a project or program delivery position within a local government, private sector and/or comparable complex environment.
- Extensive experience in the design and construction of building and facility projects and the application of appropriate Standards and guidelines.
- Experience in the application of and management of contracts as applied to the delivery of capital projects.
- Experience in, or a sound understanding of, local government, program planning and project management.
- Experience in liaising with and providing advice to various internal and external stakeholders, members of the public, council and others in relation to a significant strategic or capital project.
- Demonstrated ability to gain the support and cooperation of others to achieve effective project delivery.
- High level oral and written communication skills including excellent negotiation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills and the capacity to build and maintain positive relationships.
