Fremantle Hospital is a 300-bed specialist hospital focused on providing high-quality aged care, mental health, secondary rehabilitation, planned surgeries and medical services.

This position, based at Fremantle Hospital, provides extensive leadership and management of contemporary nursing services in the specialties of gerontology, general medicine and rehabilitation. The successful applicant will demonstrate knowledge and experience in the care of the older adult and will play a significant role in the development and delivery of a centre of excellence model for Fremantle Hospital. The position contributes to decision making across the Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Group remit of service 4, including the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans to ensure the provision of personalised, safe, effective and timely care for all patients/families. Responsibilities include overseeing the management of human, financial and material resources consistent with hospital policy, clinical practice standards and organisation vision and mission.

The position collaborates with the Nurse Director Service 4 and the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services on matters relating to the development and evaluation of Nursing practice and standards of care.

Are you eligible? To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector is essential that you are an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract.
