The Shire of Exmouth is seeking a dedicated and proactive Coordinator Works to join our team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Manager Works, the Coordinator Works is accountable for planning and coordinating the delivery of safe, quality, efficient, on-time and budget infrastructure and engineering services works executed in operations across the Shire of Exmouth in a manner that satisfies all stakeholders.
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Provide leadership and direction to the works delivery team as well as contractors involved in projects and works delivery.
- Plan, coordinate, schedule, and organise projects and works delivery to ensure the safety of team members, contractors engaged in works and the public; and directing relevant parties on work to be completed.
- Ensure that works are planned and executed according to rules and regulations as well as the Shire of Exmouth’s policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
- Provide appropriate instruction, information, training, and supervision to staff and other internal and external stakeholders to enable work to be carried out safely.
- Work effectively and professionally in a team environment and in conjunction with members of the public, contractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of plant, equipment and vehicles used within engineering environments while proactively exercising a duty of care for personal safety, the workplace, and others within the work areas.
- Liaising with public utility authorities and, managing contractors where applicable and, ensuring that the appropriate specifications and standards are being followed.
- Cooperating with other staff members to achieve desirable work outcomes and continue the development of a culture of continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience on a variety of plant and machinery used in civil construction, road maintenance, parks and gardens, and building and maintenance. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and problem-solve to achieve effective outcomes. You will have a well-developed standard of leadership, coordination, planning, and administration skills. Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with a demonstrated ability to interact in a courteous and cooperative manner with all internal and external stakeholders.
