The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of various financial and management reports, including but not limited to cash flow forecasts, month-end, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory financials budgets, as well as assisting as directed in producing finance and accounting initiatives aligned to business deliverables. Duties will include, but not be limited to:-
- Distribute weekly P&L transaction listings
- Manage the EOM process and reporting, including standard journals, prepayments, accruals, reallocation journals, and reviewing Opex to Capex
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the asset register, including asset disposal, acquisitions, and fixed asset stocktakes
- Assist with forecasting and budgeting processes, and monitor the accuracy of previous forecasts and budgets
- Adhere to external/internal audit requirements, assist with analytical reviews, and provide documentation for external audit queries
- Report to statutory bodies on finance and tax obligations, including BAS and fuel tax credit calculations
- Work on process improvement projects with the Finance Manager and assist with the maintenance of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and expense systems
- Support the Financial Controller in annual audit and budget processes, deliver fixed asset register, and analyse monthly financial statements
- Handle bank receipting and reconciliation, and support ad hoc financial/accounting business requests as required
Skills and Experience
- CA/CPA qualified, or studying towards
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Excel and other functions of Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to follow assigned tasks and responsibilities
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to prioritise, organise, and multi-task
- Understanding of healthcare terminology for relaying medical data
- Strong Excel skills
- Detail oriented
- Able to work with limited supervision and perform under pressure
