Cost Accountant

Woods & Co have partnered with a national manufacturing company experiencing rapid growth. They are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join the team and contribute to the continued success and expansion of the business.

What you will do:

• Improve performance and financial understanding of our operations teams by bringing timely data-driven insights.
• Complete and improve the month-end close for manufacturing, particularly inventory management and cost of goods sold.
• Work as a member of the team responsible for delivering the planned Netsuite system changes, including implementing Units of Measure, Purchase Orders, Inventory and WIP accounting, materials forecasting, and product cost accounting.
• Identify gaps within existing business controls and recommend the best way to minimise key risks.
• Support the rest of the Finance Team with cross-training on this and other roles to ensure critical tasks have adequate cover.

What you need:

• CA/CPA Qualification.
• A good understanding of what good manufacturing processes look like, including job BOM & Routing.
• A good understanding of manufacturing continuous improvement and how to support this with data.
• Comfortable owning core accounting functions, particularly material, labour costing, and inventory accounting.
• Highly organised and able to identify potential risks and seek support where required.
• Previous experience in a medium-sized B2B business in a similar role. Experience in the building industry would be well regarded but not critical.
• Demonstrated ability to recommend and implement business improvements.
• Comfortable working in a small team environment and wearing multiple hats.
• High level of ownership and initiative to own results for a critical area of the business.
