About YOUR new job:
The Cost Accountant will be a key business partner in decision-making for the development of new products, value optimisation, and margin performance across all current and future products. They will play a pivotal role in the organisation, being responsible for product costings and the analysis of performance to production standards.
Reporting to the Group FP&A Manager, some of the core tasks in the role will include but are not limited to:
- Developing and maintaining a costing model and standard costing in the system
- Reviewing and analysing standard costs vs actual performance and initial costings.
- Working closely with the commercial and research and development teams to design costings and conduct pressure testing/sensitivity analysis for new and existing products in development.
- Advising the Finance Team on all new and existing product development changes to be reflected in the forecasting and budgeting models
- Preparation of monthly variance reports with commentary to assist in the delivery of monthly management and board reporting
- Maintaining profit improvement plan trackers for operations and procurement-related initiatives
- Preparation of monthly forecasts and yearly budgets
- Will possess sound costing and management accounting experience.
- Advanced Excel and experience using a large ERP
- Will hold a professional accounting qualification.
- Ideally, has previous manufacturing industry experience or comes from a tangible goods business with a strong focus on inventory or supply chain.
- Is a strong communicator who enjoys working as part of a team. This role will see you out from behind your desk and directly involved in the operations of this fast-paced and large-scale production business.
- Ability to work autonomously in high-pressure environments.
