SalaryGrampians Health is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker for the role of Grade 2Counsellor/Advocate at the Ballarat Centre Against Sexual Assault. This is a permanent role of 64 hours per fortnight.Primary clinical responsibilities include counselling, advocacy support to people who have experienced sexual assault and their family members; contribution to the after-hours roster; as well as support to children and young people exhibiting harmful sexual behaviours. Sound knowledge and experience in undertaking psychosocial assessments, well developed communication skills, the ability to work well in the pursuit of client and team needs and goals are required. Experience working in community and healthcare settings with an emphasis on sexual assault and family violence would be a highly regarded attribute.You will enjoy a friendly and supportive place to work where there is a strong commitment to providing high quality evidence-based care. - Essential : Do you hold a Degree in Social Work, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers or equivalent? Please upload with your application.
- Essential : Please detail your knowledge and understanding of issues surrounding sexual assault and the short and long term effects on victim/survivors.
- Essential : Please detail your minimum of 5 years' experience in counselling, casework or case management.
- Desirable : Please detail your ability to work effectively across the CASA target group.
- Desirable : Please detail your ability to accept responsibility and work with limited direction; and the ability to monitor, evaluate and modify own performance.
- Essential : Please detail your knowledge of Victorian Mandatory Reporting requirements, Child Safety Standards and MARAM.
- Desirable : Please detail your ability to provide supervision of Social Work and Welfare students on placement and/or experience in supervision of junior staff.
- Desirable : Please detail your demonstrated skills in groupwork, community development and community education.
