About the opportunity:An exciting opportunity has become available for a Creative Communications Advisor to join the Department for Energy and Mining’s communications team to provide high quality graphic design services and manage DEM’s social media presence.
This diverse and creative role requires exceptional levels of visual communication and artistic skill, where you will be responsible for the designing and marketing of professional communications materials for print and digital media. You will prepare and deliver a range of hard copy and electronic materials, including major publications, information sheets, brochures, interactive media and web assets.
You will also use your skills to maintain and develop a sustainable social media presence for DEM, helping to raise the profile of DEM and educate the community on the department’s work and services.

Key Selection Criteria:Please address the dot points listed below in your application
- Demonstrated high knowledge and experience of graphic design and related software packages including Adobe Creative Design Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign experience essential)
- Experience working with native social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram)
- Experience in digital content production
- Demonstrated ability to analyse, assess and propose recommendations to design and digital requirements at both a strategic and operational level
Essential Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in social media marketing, communications, marketing, graphic design or equivalent.
Remuneration: ASO5, $84,522 - $94,003 per annum
Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week

- This is a contract/term vacancy up to May 2025
