About the role...
We have an epic opportunity for a Creative Manager to help lead and inspire the Creative & Content crew globally. This role is responsible for managing and developing the design crew to be high-performing creatives, inclusive of leading the concepting and ideation of global marketing campaigns, and their subsequent execution and delivery. The role is full time and based in our Global head office in Torquay. Day to day your responsibilities will be;
- As part of the content team, the Creative Manager will contribute to helping bring Rip Curl’s brand and vision to life globally through contemporary storytelling, forward-thinking ideas and creative design solutions resulting in the delivery of high value content.
- Lead and motivate the design crew to be high performing and highly engaged so to foster a positive culture and deliver to strategy.
- Lead, develop and execute the content requirements that support strategic plan.
- Ensure design crew are continually developing their skills and staying up to date with technical trends within graphic design.
- Work with the Production Manager to manage the design crew’s workloads, ensuring deadlines are met and artwork is delivered and communicated.
- Champion the creative process, ensuring relevant approvals are adhered to.
- Produce and execute the existing content requirements of our global catalogue program in support of our sales teams.
- Art direct content (photo and video) across product categories including swimwear, boardshorts, winter, wetsuits, and watches, both in field and in studio, ensuring direction is in line with over-arching creative direction and execution is to a high-level.
- Image processing - the ability to select campaign and surfing imagery to a high-level and process (colour and retouch) these images to a high-level.
You will be Graphic Design (or equivalent experience, demonstrating your dedication to honing your craft). Proven experience in a creative leadership role with demonstrated experience in art directing photoshoots and creative campaign development. To be successful in this role you must be a conceptual thinker with a customer mindset & a desire to push the boundaries, with knowledge in current technologies and a keen interest in global design and fashion trends. Above all, you will have a strong affinity for surfing, surf culture and the beach lifestyle where your folio will demonstrate your creative flair and lateral thinking ability.
