AddressWe are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Credit Control Officer to join our team. The Credit Control Officer will be responsible for managing the company's accounts receivable ledger, ensuring timely invoicing, accurate recording of transactions, and prompt collection of outstanding debts., while maintaining positive relationships with clients and customers. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a firm understanding of Credit Control procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and issue invoices to customers accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor accounts receivable balances and follow up on overdue payments.
- Communicate with customers via phone, email, and mail to resolve payment discrepancies and disputes.
- Process incoming payments, including direct debits, credit card payments, and electronic transfers, and allocate them correctly to customer accounts.
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Investigate and resolve billing errors or discrepancies identified by customers or internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and distribute regular reports on accounts receivable ageing and collection status.
- Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to address customer queries and resolve issues related to billing and payments.
- Assess credit risks and establish credit terms for new customers.
- Analyse customer payment trends and identify potential credit risks.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in Credit Control, accounts receivable management, or debt collection.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using Xero accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
