Qualifications & experience
- 3 years’ experience in credit assessment, preferably in residential mortgage lending
- Excellent communication skills and are comfortable managing multiple tasks and competing deadlines
- Intellectual curiosity, good listening and problem solving, good head for numbers, solution focused, engaging and consultative
- Ability to work with minimal supervision through complexity and uncertainty in a fast-moving environment
- Effective, high EQ communicator
- Strategic and critical thinking applied in credit decision making.
- Strong working understanding of credit frameworks and processes.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Maintain, monitor and report credit outcomes to management team
- Reviewing credit policies and assessment procedures, and developing credit portfolio reporting and monitoring, in consultation with the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer
- Examining files for assurance of credit and collateral documentation, regulatory compliance, and loan policy conformance; review technical exceptions and deficiencies.
- Provide support to our Branch Network with coaching and feedback to assist with high quality submissions
- ‘Troubleshoot’ and support customer facing / middle office staff on tasks they perform such as: initial review of applications for eligibility, verification of customer documents and financial position, identifying key issues/gaps in applications that may require further information
- Collaborating with product developers, providing insight to inform new product design/features
- Review lodged loans to ensure quality and adherence to internal policies/procedures and regulatory requirements i.e. NCCP
